Its hard to hear the pilots on the ground. is there a att. that you can BUY that u can hear thhe ground :? :? :|

I think it's still just a function of height and distance your antenna is from the airport.
I don't think there's a special antenna. What makes it difficult is that sometimes aircraft on the grond are behind buildings and terminals when they call. This of course affects the antenna reception to some degree as well.

doesnt it depend on the size of the antenna?
-
sounds right :-D thanks
-
its weird becase i can hear the controller clear and not the pilot
-
That's because the pilot is transmitting from ground level in his aircraft, and the controllers voice is transmitted from an antenna either on top of the control tower or some other high structure.
Again, it's all a function of the height of the antenna in question.

Depends how far away you are from the field, what elevation you are in relation to the field, what elements are blocking you...
I am close to the airport, therefore I get everything... someone 5 miles away would only get the aircraft, no atc

yea im about 7 miles away. from mke

You should be able to pick up the commercial aircraft on the ground since they have stronger radios, but just not small planes.

i aslo think what runway they use. If it's not blocked by a building. Time to time i hear the jets. Does it depend on the scanner?
