Not too sure how it works, but I live 5 miles off the approach end of runway 24 at BHM, I can sorta pick up the tower fairly well with a cheap handheld scanner.   I don't have the funds for anything with more juice, but I'd be happy to set something up here if you want a new feed

If you have a computer with an "always on" Internet connection, the missing hardware is the audio cable to connect your scanner to your computer. You then install some free software to and start streaming, notify Dave and you're in the business (see the FAQ).

A simple outdoor antenna (even a fixed antenna in the attic) will generally improve reception a lot. You can build your own from scrap metal if you like.
