KJFK Tower -- Horrible noise

For some reason, earlier today this feed starting making a really loud ringing noise, similar to a fire bell. It makes the noise the entire time, except when someone speaks. Please fix it...it makes the feed unbearable

Just checked the feed and it is working normally again.

This local interference comes and goes.  We're not sure if it is really a local RF interference source or an issue with the radio.  We are trying to work on it to get it resolved.

In the interim, a second Tower feed (JFK Tower #2) has been added.

Thanks for putting the second TWR link up, Dave. I thought I was going to be able to deal with the clanging, but after about 2 minutes I gave up! I know you guys are working on it, and I hope you are successful in fixing whatever the issue is because the TWR 2 feed is slightly delayed and I've noticed it repeats a few words here and there. But, I sincerely appreciate you getting it up in the meantime!!

The noise persists and is either local noise actually coming out on 119.1 or it's a radio issue.  We are sending a replacement radio there to eliminate that possibility.  We should know more in a couple days.

I don't hear it now on the primary.... not sure if you did anything yet, but sounds good to me!

No...it just comes and goes...the only thing we've done is tighten the squelch (to max) - which only masks the issue.  After we replace the receiver, if it persists then it is due to some other local issue and I'll have to take my RF sniffing loop down there and investigate next time I pass close to the receiver location.
