Title: Headset audio quality
Post by: Jonathan_tcu on July 28, 2005, 09:06:57 AM
For those who've answered my ACC questions, thanks a much guys.  My question is the change in voices every 30 to 90 minutes.  One guy's headset will broadcast the whole center's loudness in a single radio transmission, while other controllers broadcast a dead silent background.  Could this just be a difference in the headset, the controller's radar console location or is it possible that an overhead mic/speakerphone is being used?

It's probably just where the controller is sitting in the facility.  Sometimes, certain areas and consoles will block noise.  I usually never hear dead background noise on a transmission in the US except late night and very very early morning.
