Man alive. This topic rocks. I had one Toronto controller who asked an Air Canada Jazz pilot about a requested fix on his final approach. The pilot requested to Ubedo (assuming the correct spelling). The controller was surprised and literally teased the pilot on the air about that fix. It's supposed to be attached to our runway 21 VOR approach, via the 12 DME arc or something like that. On our 11 or 12 DME fix to runway 28, the fix there is the AVTOD. We also have the RIDIK fix which is 13 DME fix for runway 03 and the Intermediate Fix (I.F.) for runway 21 is the BUDAR. So with all that, you have AVTOD, UBEDO, RIDIK, BUDAR and much more. In North Bay, there is a YELIK fix and Sudbury has the AVORA fix. These controllers all the time to pronounce and spell the fixes correctly. In Kapuskaking, there is the KASNG beacon and the DOBIE fix too.
