Frequency Request - ZAU

JetScan1:

--- Quote ---ZAU41 is no longer used; ZAU45 covers FL240-FL999. I am not sure where the RCAG for 128.400 is, unfortunately.

I made a mistake on the frequency, it was 124.800 (not 128.400). Latest info. I could find is it's a backup frequency for ZAU45 with the RCAG located at Bloomington Il. I seem to recall a few years ago someone here mentioning it was simulcalsting with 134.025 ? There is a Bloomington LiveATC feed, maybe 124.800 could be added as a test ?

dave:
124.8 comes in great at the KBMI receiver site. The only issue is bleedover from Tower on 124.6 since the receiver is very close to KBMI and SDR doesn't have the ability to filter between 124.6 and 124.8. ZAU controller was heard but he must have been working two frequencies since aircraft were not heard.

Thanks for checking, so still simulcasting on 124.800, the aircraft are probably on 134.025. Too bad about the splashover, a dedicated feed scanning the 124.800/134.025 combo should work perfect as per the OP request.

dave:
We're working on adding an appropriate (non-SDR) receiver for this. May be a week or so before it is online. We will also add an SDR to separate Approach from Ground/Tower again.

Donations are always welcome for those who will find this useful.

Thanks,
Dave

Further info:

1) As long as 124.8 and 134.025 are "combined," this will work. For the ZAU controller...how often is that pair of frequencies not used? Are aircraft sometimes using 124.8?
2) I also checked 119.225 Sector 58 Lincoln Low since it isn't too far away (Leroy, IL RCAG?). No controllers heard...occasional pilot traffic. Didn't seem very busy at the time. Is that sector every combined with another? If so, which one(s)?

Thanks,
Dave
