Title: Flight Check buzzing new runway at KSEA!

Just as I was doing maintenance on the SEA_FINAL feed today, "Flight Check 59" was buzzing around SEA asking about lights -- looks like they are truly getting ready to open 16R/34L!

Very exciting :) I was listening to SEA Tower a couple of hours ago and there was a learjet flight checking it as well.

My aerospace safety professor was talking about the costs of the new runway... neat stuff. I also heard that the retaining wall that supports it is the biggest in the USA (or North America... can't remember).

I imagine SEA will be a much more popular frequency with the new runway open...
