England ATC Live Feeds...Illegal?
« on: December 10, 2007, 09:41:00 AM »
With all the English spotters there are, wondering why Heathrow and Gatwick aren't on LiveATC.net?  Maybe against law to monitor or put up for world to hear...Steve

Any rule or regulation to back this up? Just curious.

Please don't think that because there isn't a feed here for an airport in a given country means that it is illegal in that country. there just isn't a feed there or someone wanting to host a feed. Outside of applicable law, LiveATC is a voluntary network..

I know that about 10 years ago the law in the Netherlands changed... Under the old law you were allowed to listen to all transmissions you could receive, but you could not disclose the content of what you heard, unless it was a public broadcast.
Under the new law that restriction was lifted, so liveATC from the Netherlands is possible now.
