VHHH question
« on: February 20, 2015, 09:59:07 AM »
The new feeds for VHHH are wonderful. Being able to listen to the 2 ground and 2 tower freq separately is perfect. But is it possible to break up approach and departure as well? During busy times of day it is close to impossible to follow an airplane because of all the busy frequencies on one stream. Also I have listened to the separated director, approach, and area, and am not sure what exactly they are picking up. Most of what I hear on them is very quiet and lots of static.

The new feeds are a work in progress with a couple of SDR DVB-T receivers.  As for the feed with scanned frequencies, that is in a different place...no changes will happen on that one for now.

The reception should improve in time.

Thanks. So is the separate approach the final approach frequency. And what is area and director? Is director the zulu airspace? If possible could there be separate zulu, approach, departure, ground, tower?

Hi, glad to hear the feeds I setup are being appreciated thanks. Dave is right, it's a work in progress still. I have a new antenna from him that will hopefully provide better reception. Also, I might add a third dongle in the next few days and see if we can seperate the departure from arrivals.

Hello. I noticed VHHH only has approach and departure active for a while. Are the other feeds coming back? Thank you
