Does anyone want more sectors on the ZNY feed?
« on: December 28, 2005, 04:54:21 PM »
Okay, I have noticed "PIT" has quite a load of ZOB freqs on the feed. I know some don't like alot of freqs because it's too much to follow. If you want a sector up that controls a certain STAR or Departures out of a certain airport then post here and I'll tell you the sector and then you can go look it up on the sector map under my feed.

I'd be interested in listening to different sector configurations or areas from time to time. Would it be possible to set up the scanner to just focus on certain areas or routes at different times ? As opposed to taking everyones requests and trying to scan everything at once ! Given the traffic volume in that area it doesn't make much sense to scan more than maybe 3 or 4 frequencies at a time. The set up you have now works okay, although even now gets too busy sometimes.

Just please don't go and add a wack of frequencies as it just totally ruins the radio, I really don't understand the logic and why some of you do this ??? The PIT/Cleveland radio is set up to scan way too many frequencies, but the reception is so bad it works because you're not hearing most of the traffic on them. My 2 cents.

Yea, see I figured some people like youself that follow the flows etc would want me to swap freqs. Like even I'm bored with my three sectors that I pick up controllers on, I wish I had a 1000 ft antenna so I could run a feed for each area with controllers. So if you want me to take out those three and put in another three. Maybe JFK56 25.32, DIXIE68 18.97, and BWZ74 33.5 or aim towards more of the busier western sectors. MDT27 32.2, LRP26 33.17, HAR10 33.47, and PSB73 32.87.

I'm making a database for as many sectors as I can, so yes that would be great if you could change it up every now and then. I know what you mean, once you learn the "flow" for each sector it does get very repetitive.

I was thinking more to the east, how's your reception out that way ?

118.975 New York
121.025 Washington
133.125 Washington

Just those 3 for a few days would be great !

I know 18.97 comes in well. It's just east of my location, DITCH bound departures out of PHL go to 18.97. As for the ZDC freqs, Im not sure. But it's worth a try.

CYN58 - http://www.dcartcc.org/facilities/zdc/sector/58.html
SIE59 - http://www.dcartcc.org/facilities/zdc/sector/59.html

Ok all three are now in there. So feed now is only the following:

ZNY DIXIE68 (Low) - 118.97
ZDC CYN58 (High) - 121.02
ZDC SIE59 (High) - 133.12

Something is wrong with the audio on this feed, it keeps dropping off line every few minutes. You have to keep re-connecting. Otherwise reception has been very good. DJ

I'd like ZNY66 added 134.55 which is right under ZDC59

Here we go again. More frequencies are not better ! How much would I have to pay you guys to STOP ADDING TOO MANY FREQUENCIES, name your price. Seriously I'd be willing to pay to "rent" control of some of these radios, similar to the DX radio concept. Anyway this can be implemented ? DJ

4 freqs is too much at 11pm.... Come on now, you got your request. The least I could do would be to add in one more from small and harmless request. Hell I would not mind at all running all the ZNY Area's if someone payed for the equipment.
