Decent Scanner?
« on: August 26, 2004, 08:41:39 AM »
Hi,
I have a fairly cheap scanner at home at it can hardly pick up my local airport and was wondering could anybody recommend a good scanner. I live in Dublin,Ireland and with a decent scanner should be able to listen to Shannon Centre and Shanwick Oceanic as well as London/Manchester as they control the sector of the Irish Sea from the Isle of Man inwards.
Thanks,
Shane

I use a uniden bc120xlt with a 2meter external antenna and can pick up aircraft and centers within between 400km and 500km depending on weather conditions but i thing it works very good and gets the job done.
