I have 6 SDRs for ATC audio and one doing ADSB. To be honest, what I was trying / playing around with is multichannel mode with rtlsdrairband where I could put something like clearance and ground on one stream (clearance in the left ear, and ground on the right ear) ... in my current scan mode, often I miss part of the conversation because with the pause in conversations between ATC and the pilot the SDR will move on to scanning again and miss the transmission or it locks in on another frequency and you miss it. The thought here is that generally speaking in Winnipeg there isnt often a lot of clearance, ground and tower all transmitting at the same time, and it kinda naturally flows through that position workflow. So my thought was clearance / ground on one stream, then ground / tower on another stream and maybe tower / departure on the last ... I've been experimenting with the "mixers" on rtlsdrairband and while it "works" the audio has echo even though I am setting them to full LEFT or full RIGHT on the stereo, and I can also see that both channels are moving in the audio bars visual in your audio player, so its almost like its not really doing what I expect anyhow. But maybe what would be cooler (but kinda much more complicated) is to have a "mixer app" that can take multiple single ATC position streams and do the mixing of those outside of the rtlsdrairband and then actually you could mix multiple airports! But that is way advanced for what I'm trying right now, I can claude code that in another project I suppose. From what I've found so far is there might actually be a bug in the mixer code for rtlsdrairband or I'm configuring it wrong. I'll keep testing configurations and see if I can get it working otherwise the scan mode does work fine.
