Current aviation weather

So some of you probably watch the weather for the airports you are listening too.

Now sometimes the METAR every hour just does not cut it and i found this need webpage from the NOAA:

https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/zoa/getobext.php?wfo=&sid=KJFK&num=24&raw=1

After selecting another airport you need to click "Show Raw Observations" to get a proper aviation format :)

I guess you already know the RVR / runway lighting page:
http://rvr.fly.faa.gov/cgi-bin/displayscreens.pl?refresh_time_is=medium&fontsize=1&gifsize=large&RVR_layout_is=2x2
or http://rvr.fly.faa.gov/
(the first link is what i have bookmarked for easy access)

Oh and for radar images i generally use the MRMS overlay you can activate on skyvector.com

What are your favorite sites for aviation weather "watching"?

Why not get the METAR plus more from the Aviation Weather section at NOAA?

https://aviationweather.gov/adds/

This will not only get you the METER, but AIRMETs, SIGMETs, PIREPs, Icing, locations for turbulence, plus more.

BL.

hey tyketto :)

The official METAR is not updated as frequently, once an hour or specials.

The page i linked has a consistent "every 5 minutes plus every METAR" format.

Sometimes the wind changes quite a bit and the METAR is not changed. Most of the time you hear it on tower frequency so i agree it might not be that useful.
But if you want to check how the wind changed i find i quite interesting.
