I got the Audacity program.  But I can't get the audio file in the window because the audio file is in Quicktime and I can't find the audio in Quicktime.  This is getting a little difficult

If it's an archive file you're trying to capture it's an MP3 which is probably just playing in quicktime.  Try right-clicking on the "Listen" button and selecting "Save Target as..."

ok, so I recorded what I wanted,  Now how do I get that into Itunes or whatever music player I want?
