Title: Coming Winter Storm
Post by: Hopkins on January 21, 2005, 03:54:56 PM
Big winter storm coming... if you enjoy listening to the ATC during the snow, it will probably sweep through our feeds in roughly this order:

TVC, DTW, CVG, CMH, CLE, CYYZ, PHL, TTN, ALB, JFK, LGA, BOS

I know there are some I've missed, and I didn't get all the feeds (if there were a few from the same area as those I had already listed).  I wasn't really sure how far south the storm will go, so I didn't list anything below Ohio.

In any case, it will be a busy few days!

KBDR will be up although mins probably too low.  Listen to http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/kbdr.m3u for NY Approach/Departure and Boston Center with lots of re-routes.

I have a lot of knowledge in meteorology so I will be tracking this storm closely.

I make forecasts in my free, bad-weather times.  Fun stuff...

I'm in IND for the weekend and we're to get 5-8 inches, probably mostly during the FedEx rush late this evening (Friday), so I'll have it on IND for whenever the weather is bad.

On another note, a tad off topic, for those of you who enjoy high altitude ATC, I've decided to scan a couple ZID freqs off and on over the weekend, partly because of the interest in high altitude, but also because it's interesting to hear the reduced seperation.  I hope to have both an IND and LAF feed within a month or so.

Enjoy!

Matt

Ice pellets and snow here in CMH.  The pellets are keeping some flights grounded.
