The Runway 17 ILS (I-LLZ) and DME is out of service at KJYO.

If you're an AOPA member, here's a recent NOTAM Briefing on Guidance for NOTAM “D” Standardization.

LLZ is the abbreviation for localizer (at any airport).  I-LLZ is not the identifier for RWY17 localizer at JYO (it is I-JYO).  Other components such as glideslope and markers have abbreviations also.

"OTS" doesn't sound like a "standard" way of saying something is not working.

isn't is u/s for un-serviceable?

What does OTS stand for?

OTS is standard and stands for "out of service", check the FAA NOTAM glossary

So its not an acronym?

I'm just seeing this as a non-US pilot, if I was flying to the airport.

I would assume that it was out of service just because it was in a NOTAM. But "OTS" doesn't seem to follow any ICAO standard.

OOS would make more sense, to me, "out of service"

Technically OTS is not an acronym but rather one of many flaky abbreviations the FAA (US aviation admin) came up with back when computers had very limited working memory and storage space, AFAIK.

Edit:  These days most of the services that provide NOTAMs will expand out these abbreviations into more "English-like" words to make it easier for those who have trouble deciphering them.

I stand corrected, though I find it odd that the identifier of the station is not included in the NOTAM (which is what I'm most used to seeing in the past).
