Central Virginia ATC Communications
« on: March 11, 2019, 11:38:27 PM »
I recently built and activated a FlightAware ADS-B SDR using a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and FlightAware USB Pro Stick Plus.  I get very good coverage (~100 NM radius) using a small 1090 MHz internal antenna from my home in Culpeper, Virginia.  I would like to listen to ATC radio communications with the aircraft in my reception area.  Could you please suggest what frequencies / LiveATC feeder sites are available to listen to Washington Center (ZDC) and the aircraft on the following routes (from the IFR Enroute High Charts):

- J518 from BAL VOR west
- J6 from LRP VOR through MRB VOR south
- J162 from MGW VOR to MRB VOR east
- J30-34 from ESL VOR east
- J149 / Q72 from AML VOR west
- J134 / Q68-80 from LDN VOR west
- J213 from AML VOR west
- J8-147 from CSN VOR south
- J48 / Q40 from CSN VOR south (esp. want this one!)
- J75 from BINKS through GVE VOR south (esp. want this one!)
- J42 from MOL VOR through GVE VOR north
- J51 from FAK VOR to OTT VOR north

Thank you!

Kevin,

Attached is a high altitude chart for Washington in that area, shows the sector boundaries and frequencies.
