Can a TV aerial be used in anyway for a scanner antenna?

Yeah! Before I got my telescopic from radioshack, I used an old portable tv antenna. It worked much better then my stock antenna.

How would you use it? Or set it up, connect it to your handheld radio?

Well, I have a BNC connector on my portable scanner. The tv antenna had a regular adapter, maybe an F connector? Not sure what its called... I just slipped it over my BNC, and it works.

Yup same here. My old rabbit ears do the trick. Fits right on the ant housing.
