BOS Landing 15R
« on: October 12, 2008, 17:04:17 UTC »
I noticed this afternoon that BOS was landing 15R and departing runway 9. I know departures on runway 9 is a frequent occurance but this is the first time in awhile i can remember seeing them land 15R. Can someone more informed than I chime in?

I'm not in the Boston area, but I am presuming it is simply wind based. See current weather below:

KBOS   1:54 PM   10 sm       Few 4500', Scattered 25000'    160° at 7 kt   63.0°F   44.1°F   30.47"

Its not a well liked configuration due to the length of runway until the intersections.  This configuration can make getting departures out very difficult, or at least not at a very high rate.
