Does anyone think this antenna will work good on the airband and pick up ATC???

This will be fine if you are within a few miles of the airport. Are you using a handheld receiver? Typical 1-2 miles of enjoyable listening.
Next option is to use a mobile antenna. 2-6 miles
Best option is an outdoor antenna. 6-15+ miles
Of course terrain, obstructions, antenna height, avoiding man made interference all play a role in good reception.

Antennas only work so good. You can't magically boost reception. Your antenna can be 10ft and it still wont be great if it's indoors on your little handheld. Best you can do is make/buy a directional antenna, put it outside pointed at the airport at somewhere 20ft+. You will probably still get your 15-20 Mile airports in very weak.
