New PHX Tower running as of 20 minutes ago
« on: January 14, 2007, 02:24:49 AM »
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0113controltower0113.html

So far:

Landlines are not working
ATIS is not updating
PDC data is not being recieved
AWS (wind) is not being updated on time

They are using a frequency to talk to the old tower since the landlines are not working "new tower, old tower"

For now the new tower will be operational on the mid shift only and the old tower running with another controller during the mid and fully staffed during the day.

Wonderful.

I'm sure we'll hear all about the problems that the P50 controllers will endure when they move into the new TRACON on the 28th.  So much for proper planning.

As of tonight, it appears as if the

Landlines are working
ATIS is updating
PDC Data is being recieved from PRC FSS
And AWS appears to be updating

All except for the elevator, of course. Apparently a member of managment was in the elevator when it failed, although I imagine the emergency brake operated.
