ATIS?

(1/2) > >>

Coldstreamer:
Hello everyone, I work at Westchester County Airport (KHPN) here in New York, and we listen to the atc to see when a plane is coming in. Sometimes we need to listen to ground, and for some reason atis plays in the background on ground frquency (both on computer and via phone at work and personal). Anyone know of any ways of fixing this?

KB4TEZ:
Like most set ups, in this case 2 scanners but with 3 freqs, it's split.

The Atis is all by itself, and I did just listen to Ground/Tower, and it's not the Atis you may be hearing.

Ground/Delivery and Tower are split into left channel / right channel.
swing your balance bar one way or the other to filter, either on your computer,
or on the LiveATC app.

RonR:
It is the ATIS that sometimes plays in the background.  It turns out that this feed setup is very close to the transmit antennas for ATIS, ground, tower, etc.  Because of this, there is a lot of bleed-over from the ATIS transmission onto the other frequencies that unfortunately can't be helped.  It doesn't appear to be a continuous bleed-over from the ATIS; it seems it only happens occasionally.

KB4TEZ:
weird, listen for quite a bit this morning, and never heard it once.
odd.

RonR:
I've heard this happen on a few other feeds as well...
