Title: Area 51 Radio Comms
Post by: Mathew on April 18, 2009, 08:58:44 AM
It suprises me that nobody has taken a scanner to the top of Tikaboo Peak and scanned frequencies for Area51.
For those who don't know, Tikaboo Peak is the only 'legal' location where you can actually SEE Area 51.

UFO Hunters did this in Season 2, Episode 13 (probably the newest Area 51 doco). They took a HD camera too the peak of the mountain and filmed all sorts of activity, including the aircraft morning fly in for the workers.

Thanks

If I had to guess probably most stuff is P25 encrypted or ESK. Air to ground might be open (you'd think at least guard) but probably codewords are used.

Because everything is encrypted on P-25 as with most military installtions now,not all but most. Not only that the codes are changed everyday so you will not have a clue as to what's going on.

The ATC won't be encrypted unless they equipped all their aircraft with the special digital equipment.

There was an Area 51 feeder a while ago.  But then one day, him and his equipment disappeared.  He hasn't been heard from since then.  The gov't refuses to comment...

The government says Area 51 exist, ergo the Area 51 feed doesn't exist, vis-a-vis the person running the Area 51 feed doesn't exist, and never did.
8-)

Actually the government was forced to admit it's existence during a legal case over wrongful death there due to improperly disposed of chemical waste

I don't watch too much tv having been in the military and various locations around the world, radio communicatuions was one of the fields i worked in and with new digital equipment coming to most military bases even air comms will be digital, alot of frequencies in the UHF aircraft range are being moved because the military is going to  digiital communications in the high end UHF range,380 and up.A lot of it will be encrypted too.
