Just to advise any DX HF listeners that the 2005/2006 Antartic season is scheduled to start on Tuesday 4th October from Christchurch International to McMurdo (Williams Field).
Depending on the weather flights will be daily I guess with C-5 and C-17 Globemaster aircraft initially and then C-130's later on once the ice skiways are prepared. There are no more C-141's as you will know by now.
I am hoping to get some HF on 9032 Khz and or 5643/8867 at some stage this season. Also VHF 129.3 on departure south.
It is oftern interesting listening with very inhospitable conditions at times and demanding weather constraints on flight ops.
