Title: Anyone know anything about this control tower design?
Post by: stealth71 on April 24, 2006, 05:59:01 PM
New tower in Arizona. A similar design was recently used in Salina, Kansas. Our airport is beginning a tower replacement project and are looking at several different design options. Does anyone know if there is a name for this design? For example, the towers at Denver and Salt Lake are called the Leo Daly design. If anyone knows anything about this one, please forward any info to me here or by PM.

I didn't even know there were names for the designs. I just know there are about 4 sets of FAA Standard designs. I assume they are using the names of the architects. As for the design at DEN and SLC. PDX, DTW, STL, MIA, and I believe DFW use that same design. Also the new IAD Tower being constucted uses that design. There is a new design out, that ATL and PHX are going to be utilizing. I'd be interested in that new design name.
