Looking for a clip of an incident
« on: February 23, 2010, 01:37:09 AM »

Need your help here, guys.

I don't know if the temporary LAX Tower feed is being archived or not, but in catching up on a week's worth of threads over at FlightAware, I stumbled on the following:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,586963,00.html

This appears to have happened a day after the incident in Austin, putting it at 2/19/10. If the times in the article are right, this would have happened between 1000Z and 1100Z, in the middle of noise abatement/suicide ops.

First question: is the temporary feed archived somewhere? Secondly, if so, any chances on finding any clip of this in that archive?

BL.

I checked the archives...feed was not up during that time period.  But takeoff was likely picked up on MYF archives.

Thanks, Dave. I'll give that one a shot.

It wouldn't have been on the LAX archive even if it was up.  They kept the guy on one of the San Diego sector frequencies for the entire thing to simplify things for the errant pilot.
