Android Auto/Apple Carplay support?
« on: May 05, 2018, 03:33:51 PM »
Plugging my phone into my car's head unit puts it into Android Auto mode, and shuts off the bluetooth streaming from the LiveATC app to the car's radio.  This forces me to choose between Waze for navigation via Android Auto and listening to my local airport's feed during my daily commute.

Any thoughts of adding support for either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?  As a developer, I'd be happy to contribute my skills to the effort (at least on the Android side) if that's possible.

Also, I'm a new member to the forum, so let me know if there's a better place to post something like this...

Or you could disable Android Auto mode for now, no?

We're considering it (both platforms) but quite a bit of work to do it and very low priority. Not a lot of requests for it.

Contact me privately via https://liveatc.net/contact/ and we can connect and discuss.

Thanks,
Dave

The LiveATC iOS app actually works fine via CarPlay. You don't get the UI on the Dash, but the audio will route through it just fine.
