Inflated listening numbers?
« on: October 06, 2009, 03:49:26 PM »
Does anyone find it a little strange that suddenly the feed from "SVVA - Valencia, Venezuela" has 163 listeners while KJFK has only 59?  Is ATC monitoring really THAT popular in South America?

Dave - any thoughts about having 2 "Top 50" feed lists?  One for North America and perhaps one (or more) for the rest of the World?  Just a thought -

Separate Top 50 lists has been on the drawing board for a while.  It will come at some point.

Perhaps there was a temporary event at SVVA and there was a flash mob for a bit.  Hard to say, and not really that important in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks Dave, looking forward to the new Top 50 lists -

I sent the note because I was wondering aloud if this was an attempt at a denial-of-service attack or something related (within 2 minutes of posting my note, the CVVS site reported 245 listeners - it then dropped to only a few almost as quickly).

Just thought I'd report the 'unusual' occurrence and let you-all take it from there -
