Title: Air Show at KWRI (McGuire)
Post by: JohnN on May 10, 2014, 11:04:38 AM
I'm not sure what will be heard on the frequencies I'm scanning, but this weekend there is an air show at Joint Base McGuire/Dix/Lakehurst. The Thunderbirds will be performing. Here's the McGuire feed: http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=kwri Let me know if you know of any frequencies I should add for the air show.

Here's the Geico Skytypers flying over my house on their way to the Open House. Picture was taken around 11AM.

I got a list of frequencies that were used during the 2012 Open House, including the Thunderbirds. I'll add them to the scan, and see what I can pick up.

The Thunderbirds should start performing around 3PM. Hope my scanner picks them up.

The Thunderbirds are coming in nice and clear on the feed. Here's the link if you want to listen. http://www.liveatc.net/search/?icao=kwri

If I remember correctly, I'm about 20 miles from Wrightstown. There was a thunderstorm with some heavy rain that passed by me, but I guess it missed McGuire. Looking at the past radar, it looks like everything avoided KWRI for the most part. Tomorrow's supposed to be the nicer day, so I'll probably go then.
