AIR NAVIGATIONAL Chinese lanterns flying through EGCC 23R Centerline

The menace to AIR TRAFFIC continues with launches of Chinese lanterns at weekends from Private houses here at EGCC during the hours of darkness.
Several landing Aircraft report these objects 3-400ft on finals.

Between 2333-0023 Dec 31/1 Jan 10 at least 26 of these lanterns landing within the boundary fence of EGCC some even coming down on the live taxiways and stand areas after running out of lift!
We expect the same for New year!

Youths with green Lasers still causing issues with approaching traffic ,4 miles from touchdown to 23R from time to time.
Fingers x they get caught.

Well, when these things land on Aircraft as they did in January and threat of these things blowing about the Stands and Taxiways and then the possibility of them being sucked into engines, they are a real threat!

This would be classed as Foreign Object Damage (FOD)

I share some skepticism. When jet engines are designed to take this kind of punishment it seems it would shrug off ingesting some rice paper and few sticks.

Let me set the record straight.

Safety is the first consideration of everyone In the industry, you should know that being a fellow 'Professional'.
So based on your comments you would not see a potential hazard as a problem and also you would not notify the on duty ops manager to try to retrieve the object if it was blowing about the Airfield.
I do not feel aircrew would share your sentiments Sir, we have Aircrews reporting these objects they are a Navigation hazard FACT!

I explained my thinking: When an engine can suck in an 8lb chicken or 3/4's of a ton of hail in 30 seconds () and still operate I don't think what amounts to a large paper bag would even register. I've don't claim to have all the answers and it would be nice to understand your perspective, but all you've done is typed some impassioned words without actually explaining why these things are a "menace".
