Title: Air Force One-Elect?
Post by: athaker on November 10, 2008, 11:48:46 AM
Does President-Elect Obama get a cool callsign?

He's flying into DC today from Il. so listen up

(I'm pretty sure, since he apparently dropped off his kids to school before heading to the White House)

No, he's still a civilian flying a civilian aircraft.

The local news showed him boarding a chartered AAL MD-80 at DCA.

Candidates use Tyson (e.g Tyson 3, Tyson 8 ). But that's technically because they have their own paint livery. Now that he's back on a normal carrier, AAL should just be using their callsign considering that's what they'll be ID'd to on the ground.
