Air Force One ATC
« on: November 10, 2013, 10:33:47 PM »
This time change has messed me up with archives. Can anyone find the audio of Air Force One landing at KMSY last friday November 8. It was mid morning. If able, I would like to hear initial contact with approach until ground control

OK, I found it, here ya go...This was taken off of the KMSY feed which has Gnd, Twr and App on the same feed so it's likely that some of the communications with AF1 were missed because the scanner for that feed was on another frequency at the time.  Even so, I think it gives a good picture of what was going on at the time...

Found a little more AF1 chatter on the ZHU frequencies.  I've attached that to the clip above...

Anyone else think this wasn't exactly priority handling on the part of the MSY approach controller?

The audio of all the communications was condensed quite a bit so if you go just by the way you hear it in the audio clip, it's really hard to tell what kind of priority handling AF1 received.  In reality though KMSY was at a standstill when AF1 arrived.  Other planes were kept away while AF1 was on approach...
