Title: Air Force 2 at KSYR

Happening now: Air Force 2 inbound at KSYR, 3/13 at 10:40 EDT. State Police helicopters are circling airport and commercial aircraft at being put into holding patterns while the VIP arrives. Not sure what the purpose of this visit is. Any insight?

Vice President Joe Biden is in Syracuse today, attending the funeral service of his Syracuse University Law School classmate and lifelong friend John Covino.
Aparently it was kept secret til the service began at 11am.  No TFRs were posted publicly.

Great, a government aircraft being used to attend a friend's funeral.  US tax dollars at work.

He flies up and back to Wilmington, DE at least once a week.  Most times in B-757.  I guess it is a perk of being VP.

I don't like him either.  But this is standard procedure. Every time Obama wants to go visit friends or go on vacation, his big ass 747 takes him there.  The second in command or the United States can not just call out sick, rent a Chevy Aveo, and drive up to visit a friend.  Protection and transportation is a 24/7/365 job.
