Adding Gander Center High south?
« on: May 03, 2018, 07:43:22 PM »
The CYYR Center feed covers south of CYYT on slow times but not during high traffic times. Can the south sectors of Gander Center High be added in the future?

The low center frequency is clogging up a lot of the transmissions on CYYR Center. Can that be added to the Del/Grnd/Etc feed and another high center frequency added to CYYR Center possibly covering south around CYYT? The low center frequency covers all the small prop airplanes flying around CYYR and CYYT and that makes it hard to hear airplanes on the high tracks.

I agree, it would be an improvement if low sector 120.40 could be moved to the other feed. Or better yet a dedicated feed for the low sectors as they do get very busy at times.

Goose Bay (CYYR) is over 450 miles away from St. John's (CYYT), so you are not going to hear anything over YYT from YYR. A case could be made for some of the adjacent sectors. This was discussed in a previous thread ....
