Add GMT/UMT/Zulu Time to Archives
« on: August 07, 2007, 06:41:40 PM »
I would like to propose a simple addition to the Archives Search page:
 > Add the current GMT/UMT/Zulu time.

I sometimes get confused what time it is in GMT/UMT/Zulu, either because I just travelled and the time zone has changed, or the time has changed (daylight savings time), or I'm listening to another area which is x-hours behind and I have to calculate time backwards-then-forwards to get the time out of the archives.

I think it would help me if the current GMT/UMT/Zulu time was listed so it's easier to figure out?  Thoughts?  :)

I'm sure there's some other way you can view the current Z-time.

I use a clock with the "circle of fifths" -yes I'm a music geek too- that I keep Zulu time on and hang next to my computer.

But otherwise, that would be a great, easy to add feature.

Of course, you could always head over to Jason's page (hpnpilot1200.org) and he's got it right there. Almost like he saw this coming.

It's usually faster for me to think and calculate it out then to look it up.  I don't have any clocks set on Zulu time, but my favourite "lookup" site is at the World Time Server site.  It's very well organized for me and useful for any time zones, anywhere.

World Time Server:

UTC/GMT/Zulu (direct link):

Like you mentioned, I'm suggesting it since it's a rather easy feature to add.  :)
