I was wondering why they are down. They have down for a long time. Is that because they have the same rules as the UK as in it is illeagal to transmit ATC from New Zealand?

Mazrim,
The NZCH feed is only on periodically during the day when possible.
Being a country thousands of miles from other international boarders there is no huge volume of traffic in the evening after midnight NZ Time so it is not so interesting.
I will try to feed some more if possible.
It is not illegal as like the rules in the UK but there are just very few of us way down here! I can report though that the NZCH reception is much better due to an upgrade in the NZ Airways radio equipment. I can now receive a signal of the tower and from an aircraft tug re-positioning parked aircraft on the ground at Christchurch Airport.... some 76 nm to the north. It is caused by some terrain reflections and good luck.
Almost anytime I can hear departure aircraft through 1200 feet on an instrument deprture. It is pretty impresive really from this distance!!
Thanks for listening.
Regards
Hayden

Ok. Cool. Thanks. One of my online gaming buddies lives down in Dunedin. I have actually been to Christchurch before.

Hi,
Ok, I am half way between Dunedin and NZCH. Was at NZCH airport today... quite busy actually. Some heavies, Singapore B777 and C-17's for the US ice flights on the ground.
What country are you from??
