For anyone interested, the new A380 will be flying into JFK this morning. Here's the article from MSNBC:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17677829/
Should make a cool listen.

Just heard a pilot ask the tower controller what time he'll be in - he said the current estimate is 12.30.
-
What JFK feed would be the best bet for hearing the A380? Tower?
Dan
-
Two or Three pilots already asked when it will arrive on the tower feed. Tower said 12:30pm at terminal 1.

its 10.23am and there is already 135 people on the JFK tower feed

holy cr*p, we're really old.

Anyone know which approach feed it'll be on??
on airliner.net they say it is in ROBER approach
-
it is currenly on Rober and using the suffix "super" not heavy. Is being vectored for a delayed landing at 12:15et
-
everytime the controller on rober says 'super' he says it in such a way that he can't quite believe he's saying it...like a long pause before he says it.
pilot just said he can come in at 12.10 rather than 12.15. controller said he was orbiting over the area of a bridge but i didn't catch which one....
-
Just started vectors to final :)
-
Tower guy is trying to keep all the choppers out of the way!
-
A380 changed to ground and he asked them to contact another freq. when the pilot asked if he wanted him to stay with him he joked 'you've probably got about 8 radios with the size of that thing'
-
Another A380 just landed in LAX as well.
-
haha a jetblue just got offered the chance to take the long way round to the gate to see the 380 and she took it. hope the passengers appreciate massive planes....
-
I caught the 8 radio comment as well, did anyone catch someone saying "ba- ba-bouy" ??
-
yup...heard that as well..lol
-
haha
"you're following an A380....Super...."
"Ok that's what i was gonna ask..."
-
What are the times, freqs.? Can anoyone post the audio. I hate it that i was in school!

As a UK Listener and for anyone else the A380 can be heard on KJFK Tower and Delivery/Ground between 1600 -1630 GMT
Also the ground controller is just "awesome" when anyone is asking can they watch the A380 he is so accomodating.

No, I disagree. I think they'd both be screaming for someone to let them out of those caskets :D

Hi,
the next job for the JFK's A388 (A380-800) is a flight to KORD, departing in 15 minutes (11:25 am EDT, DLH8941). The atc stuff said, this machine comes back 12 hours later - around 11:30 pm, and tomorrow there will be "a couple of" departures.
Bye

Do someone have any idea where the one in LAX is going to go now?
Hopefully Phoenix,AZ. I would love to see it. I don't think Sky Harbor made modifications to receive this type of aircraft though.
Has any one seen it "in person"?
-
The aircraft is scheduled to depart LAX on the south side of the airport between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and can only be viewed from the south side.

This means Sandpiper and the Proud Bird are going to be packed.

Also imperial hill, where you can get a real great view of takeoff.

About 5 minutes ago, a controller on KJFK Ground just mentioned that the A380 was due back there in about 30 minutes...

At 10:00 pm EDT the JFK's one A388 will leave to EDDF - flight #: DLH8945. So lets hear, how the atc officers say good bye :)
[I think from EDDF it will take another flight to shanghai]
