The JFK area feeds will have intermittent outages today as some electrical work is done.  Shouldn't take too long...

Not sure who was flying, glad all are safe.

Two people and a dog made an emergency landing in Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, a Piper PA-32RT-300  lost electrical power.

The pilot was able to call the air traffic control tower at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport on his cell phone.

He was unsure if the landing gear was down.

The pilot initially requested permission to fly by the tower so they could check.

But the fire department was able to see it from the runway.

The plane landed safely around 11:40 a.m.

Stuck in traffic yesterday, my LiveATC app on PBI, and a real quick balloon alert from pilot to tower to pilot.  :-D
Have a great weekend all.

KBOS Boston rwy 4R JetBlue 206 going around & Hop-A-Jet 280 taking-off rwy 9 (without clearance and crossing in front of the JetBlue with only a few seconds to spare)
Some comms are missing because of the combined recording TWR East & West + comms from Hop-A-Jet 280 while on the ground are only partially readable and sometimes completely missing from the audio recording.
The attached clip has all other comms stripped and most silences trimmed (except around the go-around phase)

Aviation Audio Clips / Airplane fire at Eau Claire Airport
« Last post by KB4TEZ on March 01, 2023, 09:02:18 AM »
(from Aviation Accidents / This Day in History)

Here's the audio I found of it

- NTSB issue the preliminary report into a ground fire event involving a Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee C, N9770J, that occurred on February 5, 2023, at Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (EAU/KEAU), Eau Claire, Wisconsin:
On February 5, 2023, at 1255 central standard time, a Piper PA-28-180, N9770J, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The commercial pilot and two passengers were uninjured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.
The pilot reported that he last flew the airplane on December 4, 2022, during which the airplane started and flew with no anomalies. On December 25, 2022, he was unable to start the airplane for a flight, which he attributed to the outside air temperature of -7o. On the day of the accident, he attempted to start the engine several times, but the battery charge drained. The pilot then charged the battery for about 20 minutes and attempted to start the engine again, but it still would not start. The pilot said that it was as if the engine would start with the engine primer but would not run. The pilot decided to terminate the planned flgiht so that an aircraft mechanic could inspect the airplane. The pilot turned the airplane master switch off and then one of the passengers saw smoke coming from the engine cowl. The passenger and the pilot exited the airplane, and the passenger saw a small flame inside the engine cowl. The pilot told the remaining passenger to move the mixture control to idle cutoff. The flames continued to increase and spread, and the airplane was destroyed by the fire.
The airplane was retained for further examination.

Due to line of sight limitations, feed cannot pick up transmissions from aircraft on ground, but does receive transmissions from ground control.

Just letting you all know that reception on the four JFK area feeds has been greatly improved thanks to raising the antenna and cleaning up the cable connectors.  What a difference a little maintenance makes lol!  Enjoy...
