« Last post by Fryy - Avocado Flight on June 25, 2022, 03:49:39 PM »
A Cessna 206, Texas game warden, smoke and zero visibility in cockpit. Ditched into Lady Bird Lake.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said a game warden pilot was involved in a plane crash Thursday at Lady Bird Lake in Austin.
“We are gathering more information about the status of the pilot and the airplane,” the state agency said.
The Austin Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department responded to the crash shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday just west of the I-35 bridge.
Officials said the “small plane” was only occupied by the pilot when it crashed into the lake. No others in the lake were injured during the crash.
Officials described the pilot as “experienced.” According to investigators, the game warden was conducting a test flight after some routine maintenance on the 2009 Cessna T206 plane when the aircraft started experiencing problems.
The pilot was transported to a nearby hospital with “potentially serious injuries.”

Cessna 182 on takeoff had smoke and fire in the cockpit, put it down in a field. Attached Unicom and fire dispatch audio.

"A pilot walked away with minor injuries after a small plane crash near the UC Davis airport late Thursday morning.

UC Davis officials say the plane took off from University Airport a little after 11 a.m. The pilot soon reported seeing smoke and flames in the cockpit and had to make a forced landing in a field near Vineyard Lane, south of Putah Creek."

The stream is going but not receiving KBNA Nashville Ground. Tower asks flight to switch to ground .9 and that’s it on both the Ground and Tower/Ground Streams.

(KTLA) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a commercial airline pilot reported seeing a jet pack near the Los Angeles International Airport.

The sighting happened around 2:45 p.m. Thursday, about 15 miles east of the airport.

It’s not the first time the FAA has been alerted about possible jet pack sightings near LAX. Several sightings have been reported since October 2020, and there have been continued reported sightings every few months.
The FAA has worked with the FBI to investigate each jet pack sighting, and so far none — including Thursday’s reported sighting — have been verified. In fact, back in November 2021, the Los Angeles Police Department released video of some strange-looking balloons that they theorized could be responsible for the jet pack reports.

The video, captured sometime in November 2020, shows a skeleton-like balloon, possibly an inflatable Jack Skellington character from the “Nightmare Before Christmas” film.

It remains unclear at this time what the reported jet pack sightings actually are, but some experts have said it’s unlikely to be a person due to the high altitude of the sightings. Another theory that has been floated, other than balloons, is that it’s a high-powered drone with a mannequin attached.

MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, FLA. (WSVN) - A plane arriving from Santo Domingo at Miami International Airport caught fire after it made a crash landing, tearing through structures before coming to rest in a grassy area.

Red Air flight 203, with 126 people, including 11 crew members on board, made an emergency landing at around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, after something went wrong with the landing gear.

Dozens of first responders flooded the runway in emergency mode, as rush hour drivers on and near the busy 836 did double takes and then began shooting video, documenting and commenting on the danger.

“What happened here is a miracle,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
Cava, who had landed on a separate flight from Philadelphia, came to the scene in the aftermath.

“Apparently a tire burst, and then it went back up and came back down, and the landing was so hard, that the entire landing apparatus was destroyed and the belly of the plane is on the ground,” said Levine Cava.

The plane collided with several objects and steered off the runaway, between the runway and the taxi way.

A crane tower that was standing in its path was taken out by the plane, along with a small building in the area. The tower could be seen wrapped around the right wing of the plane, where the fire also ignited.

Fire rescue crews responded to the scene and were able to quickly douse out the fire using foam trucks.

The plane was evacuated.

Those on board the plane appeared to be in good shape. However, according to Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue, three people suffered injuries. Two were transported to Jackson West Hospital and the third was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

After emergency crews arrived on scene, it was determined that it was an emergency landing, not a crash.

There were no reported injuries.
