The New Miami (ZMA) Center/Approach/Misc/Havana Antenna
« on: February 25, 2017, 19:29:46 UTC »
Got this from InnovAntennas in Great Britain...yes they ship to the USA via FedEx. Had it in 2 days and it was cheaper then having it made and shipped in the USA.
It's model 108-137 MHz OP-DES Center mount airband yagi. They also have a rear mount if your mast is metal (mine is a type of fiberglass). It pretty much reads 50 ohms
with a SWR of 1.5 or less across the entire band. Right now F P & L (our electric company) is working on the power poll in front of the antenna and it's messing up the reception.
OK--Here are some pictures.

Hey Kel,

I'm looking for this antenna on their site and can't seem to find it.  Did you have to special order it from them?

Hi Ron,
To make a long story short, yes is going to be the answer. At one time it was available in the USA, maybe it is again? It stood up to Hurricane Irma and recently my fiberglass
telescopic mast broke and it came crashing down to the ground, not a scratch on it. Yeah I know, that mast is not designed for that kind of antenna   :-D
P.S. I fixed it all yesterday.

Kel,

Thanks, I've got myself MFJ259B for a very decent price. So far love it!

I'm also having hard time finding the antenna on inov's website. Trying to send them a question via their Web contact form keeps giving me "Security Token not received" message over and over :/

Also, do you mind sharing a ballpark on what it cost you?

Many thanks!!!

Hi borczm, Oh, I have a story...LOL. In January of 2017 I found it on InnovAntennas American distributors web site, I can't remember who they were, however it doesn't matter because they parted ways at the time and I thought I was out of luck. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by the owner of InnovAntennas Justin Johnson via e-mail and I was able to order the antenna, pay for it with paypal and have it shipped from England. It got here in a few days via Fed Ex international priority.  So here is what it was on Jan. 31, 2017:

10 element 108-137Mhz OP-DES Centre Mount  (they normally ship the antenna with rear mount hardware, order what you want...I have a fiberglass mast)

InnovAntennas
22 Main Road
Hockley, Essex SS54QS
United Kingdom

Telphone # 02033840072

e-mail: justin@g0ksc.co.uk

or

justin@innovantennas.com  (I used this one)

https://www.facebook.com/InnovAntennas/

at the time it cost 225 GPB (British Pounds) which was $289.33 total.  :-D   Good Luck !!
