If you are looking for a prebuilt ready to go product you could also use a Whirlwind "Director" direct box. It offers transformer isolation and a pad for either line level or speaker level input with a balanced output.

Thanks, I did not know of this kind of thing being available.  Having done this sort of interface perhaps 50 times for Motorola public safety and commercial systems, I just built it up from "spare parts".

I will check this out.

If you do a search on "direct box" you will find many other manufactures of similar products. I singled this one out as it has a pad for use with speaker level inputs. There are others that are less expensive that don't have this feature. As these are used in the pro audio field they are easy to find both online and in brick and mortar stores. Any store that sells guitars should have this or similar available.
