Here is what I have for my KCRG simple setup.
Took my "old" Radio Shack PRO-2006
Home built the antenna(Thanks to this forum for instructions).
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103295,
Wire coat hangers, Pl259 connector, BNC adapter, 35' RG6 coax, solder, PVC pipe, zip-ties and a few beers.
Total cost was $3.69.
Antenna is mounted on PVC pipe at 22ft
Distance from home to CRG is 4.7 miles. and FL is flat so no obstructions.
Dave is very professional and was extremely willing to help in the setup. A++++

Nice setup. What kind of antenna is that anyway?

The antenna is 5 pieces of coat hanger wire. Cut to 21" lenghts. Center UP wire is soldered into connector. the 4 down wires are connected onto the 4 holes on the connector. I made a small loop on the 4 wires and used bolts to make the connection. Pl259 connector
Hooked up the coax and used a piece of PVC to get the height.

Very nicely done. And, noting the cost, I conclude that you drink cheap beer! :-D
