I built a Python script that will create two three dimensional objects which can be opened in Google Earth Pro. The output of the script are two KMZ files, each containing a KML which incorporates a COLLADA 3D model generated by the the script. Unfortunately, Google Earth for the web will not allow model imports, so the KMZs can only be opened in a workstation version of Google Earth Pro.
Here are screenshots of my proposed antenna to monitor radio (and feed LiveATC.net) to/from Salem Tower (KSLE) along with the two models: 1) a cylinder of 1 meter diameter, and 2) a
Fresnal 1st "region" ellipsis.
If you have Google Earth installed on your desktop/workstation and are comfortable with a Linux shell and know how to install modules in Python, then this script could give you a transparent 3D model to assess possible interference between your antenna and an airport control tower. If there is interest, I can post the script here in this thread.
