Oh, well seen ! :-)

The front antenna is a RF-systems DX-500 : 30kHz to 500MHz (but VERY good from 30kHz to 100MHz) for Short-waves listening.  :-D

- Little Discone (AOR brand) -> FCD pro + -> LiveATC
- Big discone -> AR-5000 for VHF UHF listening
- DX-500 -> AR-5000 for decametric phone & digital modes (RTTY, SSTV, Volmet, HFDL...)

That's downright antenna porn mate!

Might want to use some zip ties instead of tape on those cables - but otherwise looks great!

You are right for the scratch. Good idea.

Bonjour J-LucB,

I noticed you are using a Fun Cube + Dongle for air band listening, how do you find the performance?

And also how do you feed to LiveATC with that? Is it only able to feed 1 channel i.e. just Director/Approach only and no onthers like radar/tower? I am thinking something similar at the line if I cannot get hold of a scanner due to laws here.

Thanking in advance for your advice.

Regards

Hi,

Use FCD Pro + (veeeeery good HF performance, far away above RTL keys, moreover  with a 16 bits sound !) driven by SDR# and the scanner plug-in.
I have upgraded to the very last release of these 2 tools :

Wow looking very good indeed J-LucB. Cables ties to for the wiring will be even better but I am sure you have your reasons for using tapes. I can only be very jealous that you have an antenna tower and also using the F5ANN active PCB antenna. Hope you are getting good results.

Hi,

Thanks for your message. Yes, the F5ANN is excellent, finally not so much difference with the previous one (BS-1100 which is for sale). The complete kit comes from here : http://shop.jetvision.de/epages/64807909.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/64807909/Products/68200

Yes. PVC tapes hold the cables (which are heavy) far better that scratch cable ties. For example, several tapes along the pylone will support the weight of 4 x 10mm cables which is quite important. I have given some slack on every antenna connection and this must be maintained without sliding.

Moreover, the tapes will not move with the wind and water.

I also play music in a band and we prefer too use "gaffer tape" to hold the cables instead of scratch cable ties.

The many uses of Gaffer's Tape.  :-D
