Title: KMKE Feed pictures
Post by: greenfieldwi on April 01, 2010, 06:48:25 PM
Here's a new feed -- KMKE -- with some old equipment. :)

I have two machines running Ubuntu Server 9.10 (thanks to Dave for helping me troubleshoot -- both machines, unfortunately for him!): One running approach/departure (Compaq Evo) and one for tower (HP Pavillion).

Scanners are two PRO-2066 models (I have a PRO-34 as backup...generally used for police bands otherwise).

Antenna is a Diamond discone (D130-J...I think) into a Stridsberg MCA204M multicoupler.

Very nice... love the signal splitter... thats the way to go... that must eliminate any scanner cycle feedback? or are each scanners set to a single freq?

great shots...

KMKE has multiple frequencies for tower and approach/departure, but I do have the freqs split up for one scanner for tower, one for approach/departure.   As budget allows I might be able to add equipment to further break out the feeds or maybe include ground.

Thanks! It was fun to set things up.  :-D

One feed has:
Milwaukee Tower   119.100
Milwaukee Tower (Backup)   118.475

The other uses:
Milwaukee Approach (East)   118.000
Milwaukee Approach (West)   126.500
Milwaukee Approach/Departure Overflow   127.850
Milwaukee Departure (East)   119.650
Milwaukee Departure (West)   125.350

I'd like to add ground at some point, but I don't have very good reception as things are right now.
