Work in progress-Miami Center Feeds
« on: August 06, 2014, 08:32:09 PM »
Hi all, well, after a 2 year hiatus as a feed provider I was able to get back into a home again and I will attempt to provide some feeds :-D There is however a slight issue; the HOA here doesn't allow antennas. I did some experimenting with different antennas in the trees and they attenuate the signal just enough to make it unusable (the RCAG is about 25 miles away from here in flat south Florida) so i'll try this setup...the reception is much better out of the tree. This antenna works great for me, it's a 2 meter corner reflector (slightly modified for the VHF Air band) from Arrow Antennas and the mast is a 50' Fiberglass telescoping from MGS Max-Gain Systems. I took it up to around 30' and it's working very well. There is a power line 50' in front of the antenna and every now and then there is some buzzzzzzing...oh well. I'll get some plastic leaves to help camouflage the antenna. I have a feeling they are not going to bother me anyways. OK...more work to do, it should be ready to go in a few weeks, just need the rain to stop, we have  been getting a tremendous amount lately!!
