hey guys. Im new to this VHF receiver buisness, and was wondering what king of reception you get with that kind of antenna and receiver? Any tips would be great.

Thats pretty much the norm around here, the Jpole with a handheld scanner. Its really easy, cheap, and practical. Would recommend it.

What range would you get with that type of antenna? I live about 12 miles from my nearest airport. Do u think i would get tower and all aircraft?

yeah, i suppose there are a few hills. Depends how high i get the antenna
