Title: HAM RADIO
Post by: Trevor KJ6RPM on April 26, 2011, 12:09:50 AM
Hey guys I was wondering if any of you are familiar with Ham radio. I know this is a feed setup forum but I had nowhere else to put it. Live in San carlos California and I noticed recently this weird antenna nearby. I will take a picture sometime soon and get it on this forum. Thanks most likely Tommorrow.

I am and I would be willing to be LOTS of people on here are. Ham radio is alive and (for the most part) pretty well. Some of it isn't as cool or relevant as it used to be now that we have Internet and advanced wireless communications, but amateur radio is a multi-faceted communications hobby with something for just about everybody. You might want to Wiki "amateur radio" for more info.

If you have a specific question or what to post your photo, go for it.

"Ham Nation" is a brand new podcast/video cast on Leo Laporte's "This Week In Technology" TWIT network.

I recommend checking it out. They are on show #2 now.

For more information go here: http://www.twit.tv/hn and download the shows.

Hey everyone.  My first post.  Does anyone have any book(s) recommendations for getting into radio scanners and ham radio?

Get the second file. Its a huge PowerPoint that goes over everything and has the question pool for each section of the Tech exam. I split the studying into 2 days and passed the test on the third day.
