Title: SBFI Operating schedule
Post by: sbfi_feeder on August 26, 2005, 12:04:30 AM
Hi all,

SBFI uplink hours of operation will be from 1200Z to 0300Z. There is no or little traffic in the remaining hours, and I will shut down the feed.

I intend to operate the uplink daily, but on stormy days it will be off (and disconnected).

Cheers all,

SBFI

I dont blame you for shutting down. All it takes is one little shot to your Inet connection and your out for a while. THats what I do too.

I don't know about DFW, but Iguassu is like a magnet to lighting strikes. I've lost one DSL modem once (but repaired it with spare parts) and the discharge which blew it came from the phone line and not the power line. I have already told my wife and daughter to ONLY use the cordless phone during thunderstorms. And worst ever: the phone company doens't refund any devices who were damaged due to lightning strikes, even if with a proof that the damage was caused by discharges on the phone line.

Cheers,
