Hello-
We now have the new HF feed up and running that targets the Caribbean and South America listening area.
The site is located about 20 miles south of MCO (Orlando, FL) . The monitor receivers are Racal 6790/GM professional HF receivers. The daytime antenna is a 4-30 MHz log periodic and the night antenna is a dipole oriented for coverage into the zone of interest.
The feed computer is a Dell Optima dedicated to the system and it is connected to a T1 feed at the site. The audio feeds from the radio(s) to a compressor / limiter then to the PC. The audio quality should be fairly good if I have everything adjusted properly!
Most of the traffic you will hear is ARINC (New York) relaying ATC instructions to enroute aircraft.

Cool! I Hope you can monitor 10024, thats the most used frequency i our region...Mexico RDO uses it, we use it (Cenamer), Lima, Santiago...etc.

I will listen to 10024 and see how the reception here is. If it is good enough, I will put a receiver on that frequency and establish a new feed.

Haven't been on liveatc.net for a long time so I'm really pleased to see a Caribbean HF feed (in fact, several!). It's my favourite listening area!
Just listening to 6577 now and although rather noisy, NY and the flights are easy enough to make out.
A lot of bizjets use 8846, pretty much throughout the day and night so a receiver dedicated to that freq would be superb if possible! Not a lot of traffic uses 11396 - 11330 is by far the main active one through the day when the 11s are in use. Perhaps 11396 could be replaced with 8846? Just some food for thought and thanks for a great set-up!
By the way, how well do pick up 129.9 VHF? This is the pre-HF check-in frequency with New York and gets a lot of selcal activity (my main interest).

I'm glad to see that someone has picked up the CAR freq's.A long time ago when I lived in the St.Petersburg area,I had a longwire setup to my trusty Grundig Yacht Boy 400 and the CAR re-
ception was stellar on 11396,11330,8846,6577 and 6586.Now that I have moved to the Clear-
water area,and tried the same setup,I can't get squat.
BTW,regarding RobK's requst on VHF freq 129.9,I had a Radio Shack discone antenna hooked
up to a VHF receiver and picked up quite a bit of air traffic on 130.7 transiting the Gulf of Mexico
to and from Cancun,Cozumel etc.The voice was good til the aircraft got past MINOW intersection,
which was exactly 200 miles from my radio receiver antenna.
The freq of 130.7 is part of ARINC's "Gulfnet" that covers the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding
San Juan.
